Football: Puchong sit comfortable atop Purple League after thrashing Petaling

PETALING JAYA: Puchong United Badminton Club are holding court after taking a commanding lead in the SS Purple League before the Christmas break. The star-studded side, runners-up to Petaling Jaya BC (PJBC) last season, smashed aside Petaling BC (PBC) 13-3 for their third straight win at the Sports Arena Sentosa in Jalan Kelang Lama on Saturday. Puchong now lead the eight-team league with 43 points, followed by Ampang Jaya BC with 32. “I’m happy with my first Purple League appearance, as it’s my first time partnering Khim Wah,” said Ee Yi. The top six teams in the round-robin first phase will proceed to the second phase of the league, where they will be divided into two groups.
