The hardest part is probably that we don’t know if the current response will be sufficient to slow down transmission to a manageable level. Unfortunately we don’t know when this will be over and what the economy will look like by then. The Cebu City treasurer has warned that it will be hard to reach this year’s target collection of P9 billion. The total population of Cebu City is about 1 million; so 122,974 households translate to more than 50 percent of the population. Other affected residents of Cebu City have received emergency assistance from agencies such as the Department of Labor and Employment.
