VALENZUELA City is set to conduct mass testing for the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) among its residents. The city will be the first in Metro Manila to conduct mass Covid-19 testing, which will be shouldered by the city government. Moreover, compared to the other test kits, the test kits purchased by the local government are considered confirmatory with only one testing, she said. Each test kit — consisting of swab kit, extraction kit and the assay kit — cost P5,150 while the processing cost P2,500. The average cost of the Covid-19 test kit is around P5,500 based on World Health Organization standard.
