First freed WBG women recount events leading to Israeli detentionBeatrice Nita JayKUALA LUMPUR: Two Al-Jazeera journalists on board Zaytouna-Oliva who were released by Israeli authorities yesterday have safely reached their home countries. Mina Harballou from London and Hoda Rakhme from Moscow were among the 13 activists and crew members of the Women’s Boat to Gaza (WBG) detained by the Isreali Navy. According to the women released, the Zaytouna-Oliva was surrounded by two warships along with four to five smaller naval boats. When the warning was ignored, at least seven IOF members, both male and female, boarded our yacht and commandeered it in international waters,” it stated. The WBG and the Freedom Flotilla Coalition will continue to make attempts to sail to Gaza until Palestine is free, they said.
