Thunes CloeteTwo revised concept plans for Wanaka’s lakefront development would include the removal of parking on grass verges. Queenstown Lakes District Council community services general manager Thunes Cloete said last year the council "received direction" to revisit the plans for stage two of the Wanaka lakefront development plan following feedback with opposing views. The proposed parking along Ardmore St, first consulted on and adopted in the 2016 Wanaka lakefront development plan, overlapped with the Millennium Path. Mr Bruce said all feedback on the concept plans would be considered by the council, but any final decision would remain with the Wanaka Community Board. Feedback on the stage two concept plans closes on August 30, at 5pm.
