Wellington Free Ambulance did CPR on the man, but he died shortly afterwards. A father is dead after jumping into Wellington Harbour to rescue his son. A child fell in the water and his father jumped in to save him, police said. Wellington Free Ambulance did CPR on the man on the beach and he was taken to Wellington Hospital in a critical condition. Earlier reports, from witnesses, that the man and child were unknown to each other were incorrect.
