Farmers are worried about their Irri paddy and fishes in the farming enclosures that might be harmed by salt water. Farmer Amjad Morol said: “The dam broke all of a sudden on Thursday. But they are now extremely worried as salt water broke through the dam and flooded the lands. Local Union Parishad Chairman Pratap Kumar Roy said he had spent around Tk1 lakh from the union parishad fund to repair the dam after it broke on Thursday.
