“Around three-fourths of respondents were from the states of Karnataka , Maharashtra, Telangana , Delhi, and Tamil Nadu . "Startups in six sectors: agriculture, data & analytics, education, health, IT consulting/solution and manufacturing accounted for nearly 50 percent of the survey respondents. “Nearly 70 percent of the surveyed were set up in the last three years while over 86 percent of them were privately set up. “Private efforts spearhead the startup sector in India,” RBI said.Other interesting findings of the survey include that nearly 60 percent of the surveyed startups had intentions of getting listed in the next five years while about 30 percent of them were seeking attractive acquisition deals in bigger firms. “Future plans of the startups included hiring staff for supporting business expansion, getting listed on the Indian stock exchanges and seeking acquisition, among others.”
