Backers include high-profile philanthropy groups including the Ford Foundation, Open Society Foundations, Omidyar Network, Hewlett Foundation, Nathan Cummings Foundation, Knight Foundation, Way to Win and Justice Catalyst. Crucial quote: “We are at a pivotal moment where cultural and political momentum are aligned to rein in the unchecked behavior of Big Tech,” said Hughes said in a statement. He has since become one of the most prominent tech founders to call for breaking up Big Tech.
