[File photo]A vegetation fire in western Southland is out but it is being treated as suspicious, a Fire and Emergency New Zealand spokesperson says. “It was well involved when we first arrived.”A fire investigator will examine the scene at Opio, near Nightcaps, on Thursday. Nightcaps firefighters were first on the scene and were soon joined by crews from Blackmount, Drummond, Mossburn and Hedgehope. After doing the initial work, crews from the Nightcaps, Mossburn, and Athol brigades were stood down.
