Extinction Rebellion protesters bring parts of central London to a standstill to draw attention to global warming. Environment Canterbury (ECan) councillors will consider declaring a climate emergency at the regional council's next meeting after talks with climate protesters. Extinction Rebellion Ōtautahi recorded ECan chief executive Bill Bayfield agreeing on video to put the question on the May 16 meeting agenda.
