Grantham pled guilty guilty in a court in British Columbia, Canada, to shooting his mother, Barbara Waite, twice in the back of the head while she played piano on 31 March 2020. Top lineGrantham, who played Jeffery Augustine in the US teen drama Riverdale, was handed a life sentence in the British Columbia Supreme Court in Vancouver on Wednesday. Both the life sentence and the firearm prohibition are mandatory for second-degree murder in British Columbia. But the actor did not go through with the plan, and instead went to Vancouver police headquarters to turn himself in, confessing to killing his mother.
