Ethiopia, Egypt Agree to Strengthen RelationsJanuary 31, 2017 - Leaders of Ethiopia and Egypt have agreed to foster and diversify their scope of cooperation in bilateral and regional issues, according to ENA. In a joint statement issued following the discussion between Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalgen President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, the leaders agreed to continue to work together to enhance the bilateral relations between their countries. The two sides stressed the need to widen and deepen the scope of cooperation in all fields of their bilateral and regional relations, including political, economic and security. The leaders underlined the paramount importance to capitalize on the achievements gained so far at the leadership and institutional level, and to enhance mutual confidence. Furthermore both leaders stressed the need to enhance closer communication and continues consultations at the leadership institutional levels regarding all aspects of bilateral relations.
