The UN World Food Programme (WFP) office in Ethiopia has announced that in the next two weeks it will provide food assistance to 450 Ethiopians who were affected by the conflicts between government forces and the Tigray People's Liberation Front (TPLF). A written statement from the WFP office in Ethiopia said the food aid will be sent to people in need in the Dessie and Kombolcha regions. The statement says that in the next two weeks, 450 Ethiopians affected by the conflicts in the country will receive food aid. It is also noted that WFP provided food assistance to 2.9 million people in Tigray, 220 people in Amhara and 124 people in Afar, while international organizations have also been called upon to provide assistance. Defense forces were established in the capital, Addis Ababa, against possible attacks by the TPLF.
