Errors have been found in the South Waikato District Council's fees and charges. Extensive mistakes in the South Waikato District Council's adopted fees and charges for 2018-21 have forced a second round of public consultation. Following the adoption of the council's 2018-21 Fees and Charges, which includes the likes of building consents, environmental and financial contributions from developers, hiring of facilities, landfill fees, liquor licensing, and dog registrations, errors in 12 areas were found. Smit said there were a number of reasons behind why the fees and charges have changed. The second round of consultation is costing ratepayers $1086.39 which Smit said was mainly for advertising and printing.
