Alison Saunders will not have her contract renewed as Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP), the Government has announced. Attorney General Jeremy Wright said Ms Saunders would leave in October. It comes amid reports that Britain's biggest police force will no longer assume all alleged victims of sex crimes are telling the truth. According to reports, the scandal played a role in the Government declining to extend the contract of Ms Saunders.
