Emergency medical centresto be set up in more stations


more-inHaving established free emergency medical care centres in Tiruchi and Thanjavur railway junctions, the Southern Railway plans to extend the facility to more stations in Tiruchi division. The railway authorities have identified 12 stations and have invited expression of interest for construction and maintenance of the facilities for a period of one year from reputed hospitals and medical care centres. The centres would have emergency care equipment, medicines and wheel chair, and manned by an attendant and nurse round-the-clock. Work on establishing medical centres was under way at Kumbakonam, Mayiladuthurai, Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur stations. The centres at Nagapattinam and Tiruvarur stations would be ready in March, the official added.
