PETALING JAYA: Young people are not keen to even register to vote in the next general election, according to a survey carried out in 165 parliamentary constituencies. However, only 6 percent of the respondents were interested in the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) issue. According to Ibrahim, the reason why young people showed a lack of interest in politics was because of trivial and seditious issues that marred local politics. On 1MDB, Ibrahim explained that the majority of the respondents felt that the issue had become an old one. Ibrahim said political parties which only aim to antagonise their opponents during campaigning might emerge losers in the upcoming polls.
