KUALA PILAH: Police have launched an investigation following the discovery of a newborn baby boy's remains near a transmission tower in Rembang Panas near here. District deputy OCPD Deputy Supt Shamrol Shah Ramli said the discovery was made by a passerby, who then alerted the police at 6.30pm on Thursday (March 26). "Preliminary examinations found the body to be that of a fully formed newborn baby boy with the umbilical cord still attached," DSP Shamrol Shah said in a statement. He said there were no signs of external injury on the victim's remains, which had begun to decompose. DSP Shamrol Shah said the remains had been sent to the Tuanku Ampuan Najihah Hospital for a post-mortem.
