The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in Niger State, in collaboration with other emergency responders has warned motorists against reckless driving, before, during and after the celebration of the forthcoming Eid-el-kabir festival. The Director-General of the agency, Alhaji Mustapha Ahmed gave the advice at the launch of 5-day Operation Eagle Eyes exercise tagged “Safe Eid-el-Kabir” organised by the agency on Sunday, in Minna, the state capital. Ahmed, who was represented by the Head, NEMA, Minna Operations Office, Hajiya Zainab Sa’idu explained that the operation in collaboration with stakeholders was aimed at reducing accidents and other emergencies on the roads. Isah added that the operation was a standby mechanism that would ensure that emergency responders were not taken unaware and were able to save lives. They hijacked an Abuja-bound aircraft, the Nigerian Airways airbus A310, and diverted it to Niger Republic.
