Egypt on Friday emphasized the importance of moving to the next phase of arrangements in the Gaza Strip, including the announcement of forming a temporary Palestinian technocratic committee to manage the daily affairs of citizens, and establishing an international stabilization force. Abdelatty stressed the rejection of any practices that would undermine the unity of the Palestinian territories or divide Gaza Strip. Palestinian Vice President Hussein al-Sheikh received Mladenov at his office in Ramallah on Friday. Mladenov met with Israeli President Isaac Herzog, wherein Herzog’s office reported that the meeting addressed political developments related to post-war arrangements and the expected role of the Peace Council in overseeing a transitional phase in the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu’s office stated that the prime minister insisted on two fundamental conditions – the disarmament of Hamas and the demilitarization of Gaza.
