CAIRO - 31 August 2020: The Health Ministry said late on Monday that 263 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed infections in Egypt since the outbreak of Covid-19 to 288,162. In a statement, spokesman for the Health Ministry Dr Khaled Megahed said six patients died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,727. Egypt to announce a children-intended treatment protocol ageist COVID-19 next week according to Dr. Hossam Hosny, the head for the scientific committee to combat Corona at the Ministry of Health and Population. During a press conference, it was stated that the established treatment protocol has been updated with new effective drugs being added and other removed, based on new studies. The Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) has permitted VACSERA-Sinovac vaccine the emergency use license as the first locally-manufactured vaccine against Coronavirus.
