Egypt recovers 7 artifacts from the US

Egyptian authorities recovered seven artifacts from the US, as a result of joint efforts from the Egyptian Embassy in Washington, DC, the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), and the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. The Egyptian Embassy’s efforts in Washington resulted in the recovery of an Ushabti statue, an amulet of the god Set, a stone scarab, two stone human heads, a mummified falcon head, and a mummified fish. The Assistant Foreign Minister for Cultural Relations, Wael al-Naggar participated in the handover ceremony and said that this achievement is the culmination of joint efforts by various state institutions. He emphasized the Egyptian state’s commitment to preserving its historical identity and cultural heritage, as well as its full adherence to the Egyptian Antiquities Protection Law and international agreements prohibiting the illicit import, export, and transfer of cultural property.
