Egypt allocates 458 bn to implement national human rights strategy this year


CAIRO – 23 June 2022: The economic and social development plan for the fiscal year 2022/2023, which was approved by Egypt’s House of Representatives, during its last plenary sessions, revealed the allocation of 458 billion pounds to implement the national human rights strategy during the year. An amount of more than 446 billion pounds has been allocated to economic, social and cultural rights, distributed as follows:69 billion pounds for the right to education46 billion pounds for the right to health7 billion pounds for cultural rights50 billion pounds for the right to work120 billion pounds for the right to adequate housing41 million pounds for the right to social security57 billion pounds for the right to food97 billion pounds for the right to safe drinking water and sanitationIn addition, an amount of more than 12 billion pounds has been allocated to support the human rights of women, children, persons with disabilities, youth and the elderly, distributed as follows:8 billion pounds for women's rights2 billion pounds for child rights122 million pounds for rights of persons with disabilities2 billion pounds for youth rights12 million pounds for the rights of the elderly
