Egypt-Saudi Arabia electricity linkage project set to start in 2025


Egypt sees linkage projects as crucial to ensuring electricity network stability and reducing the need for additional fuel for power generation. The North African country has been battling with its electricity supply amid a heatwave and gas shortages. Studies are also underway to raise the output of electricity linkage with Libya from 150MW to 2,000MW. Similarly, there is a plan to increase the output of Egypt’s electricity linkage with Jordan from 450MW to 1,100MW.
