The Election Commission (EC) has withheld results of the Chattogram-2 and Chattogram-4 races and suspended the election in Sherpur-2, pending Supreme Court rulings on legal challenges. In Chattogram-4, candidate Md Aslam Chowdhury is allowed to contest under the Appellate Division’s Feb 3 order in CPL No 441/2026. The EC, however, cites a legal obligation to suspend publication of his result until the case is finally disposed of. Its letter references the Appellate Division’s Feb 3 order, adding that the final outcome for candidate Md Fahim Chowdhury will hinge entirely on the court’s eventual ruling. Separately, the EC reports an overall voter turnout of 59.44 per cent across 297 constituencies in the general election.
