In his Labor Day message on Friday, Duterte assured workers that the government is committed to upholding their rights. Duterte added that the business sector must do its part by providing workers with stable career opportunities. Apart from the recovery plan for workers, he stressed that several programs had been launched to help displaced workers cope during the Covid emergency. “Malaking parte ng bumubuhay sa ating ekonomiya ay ang mga MSMEs at ang kanilang mga workers. She urged the Labor department to improve its programs for displaced workers, its emergency fund for overseas Filipino workers and its Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers for those in the informal sector.
