Families are being brought to Ireland from a UN camp in Lebanon WAEL HAMZEH/EPATwenty-two Syrian families will arrive in Ireland today having fled violence in their home country. The 105 people, including 58 children, had been living in a United Nations-run refugee camp in Lebanon. The government agreed to accept 4,000 Syrian refugees under various resettlement programmes at the height of the migrant crisis in 2015. Last week another 97 people were brought to Ireland from the Lebanon camp. Charlie Flanagan, the justice minister, welcomed the refugees to their “new home”.
