President Uhuru Kenyatta has warned teachers against missing classes and engaging in private business at the expense of students. Speaking later at a head teachers conference, Uhuru said the government will make secondary education free by 2019. The President was speaking yesterday at State House, Mombasa, when he met the Teachers Service Commission, the Kenya National Union of Teachers and the Kenya Union of Post-Primary Teachers officials’. He said his administration has increased the Free Day Secondary Education expenditure by 33 per cent to Sh32 billion.
