Followers of the UP chairman aspirant, Jamilur Rahman Milon—a former activist of Bangladesh Chhatra League—have been staging protests at the Kanaikhali, Harispur bypass, and Station bypass areas since Friday morning. Milon’s father—Emdadul Haq, Natore sadar upazila’s Chatni union parishad member—said his son is a candidate for the sadar upazila’s upcoming UP polls. “Around 12am on Friday, my son was abducted from his home by some men who identified themselves as the police,” he said. Natore Sadar Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jalal Uddin said traffic on the highway is normal.
