I miss Croom, home of the Maigue poets and a village that was my playground as a child. There are certain smells I miss the most; Irish stew cooking and turf fires. I miss the food you can only get in Ireland; Taytos, Cadbury Golden Crisp and, of course, Barry’s Tea. I miss the shorthand conversations that only your family know. I miss the Irish way of speaking; fast, passionate and straight to the point.
