Well-known Wellingtonians are aboard a yacht that has sent off an emergency beacon from the middle of the Pacific Ocean. Havana Coffee Works co-founder Geoff Marsland and Peter McLean, well known in the Picton and Wellington yachting communities, were aboard the 61-foot yacht, Jungle. Early morning distress calls from the four-person crew of an New Zealand yacht off the coast of Fiji sparked a search by the air force. The yacht activated its emergency beacon at dawn approximately 425 kilometres southeast of the Fijian capital of Suva.
