The games were held at Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). DU beat Rajshahi University, Khulna University, and Jagannath University in the first three rounds, before beating JU 3-1 in the finals to finish the competition unbeaten. In the previous two editions of the Inter-university Indoor Games, the DU chess team finished as runner-up and second runner-up, respectively.
