Speaking after launching the upgrading of the 30-kilometre Gatukuyu-Mataara road in Gatundu North Constituency, Kiambu County, Mr Ruto said the government is focused on delivering the promises it made to Kenyans during the campaign period last year. "Currently the government is constructing 400km network of roads in Kiambu which will help boost the economy of the county. Transport Cabinet Secretary James Macharia said that the Gatukuyu-Matara road will be upgraded to bitumen standards and be completed in two years. "Gatundu North residents have been appealing to have this road tarmacked for over 40 years. The leaders, who were warned against infighting by the deputy president, promised to work in harmony in delivering their promises to Kiambu residents.
