DOT focuses on accessibility

DOT focuses on accessibilityThe Central Luzon office of the Department of Tourism is focusing on accessibility of tourism destinations north of Manila to promote travel to the region and even advocating it as a theme of the North Philippines (NorthPhil) Expo to send the message across. DOT Central Luzon Director Ronnie P. Tiotuico cited accessibility as key to the success of any product development and marketing campaign, especially in tourism where most attractions “are in remote” locations, particularly in North Philippines. “By accessibility we mean, not just access roads, but also quality infrastructure that reflects, enhances and showcases the character of the tourism destination,” said Tiotuico. This, as he revealed the theme of the forthcoming NorthPhil Expo slated in November which is about accessibility. The expected visitors are business, trade and tourism organizations, event and convention organizers and planners, educational institutions, international and domestic travellers, local, foreign and corporate buyers, tour organizers, planners and holiday specialists, travel agents and tour operators, travel enthusiasts, and the general public.
