An AIIMS advisory, stating that people living in Tughlakabad area were sitting on “ticking (time) bomb” is a big warning sign for the Capital. The report which comes post the chemical leakage in south Delhi’s Tughlakabad area, asks just how safe is the Capital. The national Capital has no shortages of manpower or resources but a coherent plan of action has so far not been proposed by the state government. This lack of care and concern requires media, citizens and NGOs to make their voices heard even louder for action. Otherwise, we will all continue to see ministers dominating the headlines for the wrong reasons and mis-governance will continue to remain a fact of life.
