It is time India called its bluff. To the people of Kashmir and the local youth, the caveat is resoundingly loud, without even a word uttered. The message being that any engagement with the Indian government — in a professional or personal capacity — will meet with a ruthless end. Already, whatever hope the Indian government had of ushering in a syncretic harmony in the Valley is now dashed to high hell. The solution, according to them, lies in making two points unambiguously clear to the Pakistan army: First, India will not dither in escalating these conflicts, and second, Pakistan cannot outdo India when such escalation is executed.
