KOTA TINGGI: The Customs Department has promised an internal investigation into the alleged involvement of its personnel with criminal and drug smuggling activities at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport. Its director-general Datuk Subromaniam Tholasy said this when asked to comment about the arrest of six Customs officers based at KLIA for alleged involvement with drug smuggling activities. "I have yet to receive the arrest report from police therefore I can't make any decision on the six officers under investigation," he said. For the moment, he said the six officers have been relieved of their duties pending the police probe. An internal investigation will be carried out once I have received and go through the police information on the matter."
