Curfew in Hailakandi district of south Assam's Barak Valley was extended till 7am on Monday in view of the tense situation in the district following Friday’s group clash here. However, a high-level meeting of the administration here felt the situation continued to be fragile in the district and decided to extend the curfew. Curfew was imposed in Hailakandi town at 1pm on Friday and across the district at 6pm the same day. Dutta, Hailakandi deputy commissioner Keerthi Jalli, superintendent of police Mohneesh Mishra and top officers of CRPF and Assam Police. Assam excise and forest minister Parimal Suklabaidya, Silchar MLA Dilip Kr Paul, Hailakandi MLA Anwar Hussain Laskar, Katlicherra MLA Suzam Uddin Laskar, Algapur MLA Nizamuddin Choudhury and Sonai MLA Aminul Haque Laskar also attended the meeting.
