There is “credible evidence” that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman of Saudi Arabia was responsible for the murder of the journalist Jamal Khashoggi in the kingdom’s consulate in Istanbul last year, the United Nations has said. Agnès Callamard, the UN special rapporteur on extrajudicial executions, called for countries to widen sanctions to include the crown prince and his personal assets overseas, until and unless he could prove that he had no responsibility for the killing.
