The exhibit was inspired by Susan Sontag’s 1964 essay that described ‘camp’ as ‘love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration’. She entered wearing a huge hot-pink Brandon Maxwell gown, then quickly moved to a billowy black gown with an umbrella as her prop. Soon, she shifted to another hot pink gown and finally stripped to chic lingerie and blingy tights!
