Coronavirus Ireland: Number of patients in ICU rises to 70


The number of Covid-19 patients in hospital intensive care has risen again after a steady drop last week, it emerged yesterday. There were 70 patients seriously ill in intensive care with the virus yesterday compared to 67 on Friday. The turnaround is likely to be among the factors which will lead to a cautious easing of restrictions. It found an estimated 4.7 million home support hours were provided in 2019 to over 65,000 people aged 65 years and older. “Halving the number of home support recipients who enter long-term residential care by providing them with adequate intensive home support packages would require an extra 4.2 million hours.
