An opposition MP who was among legislators arrested on June 14, over hate speech has offered to renovate a police station cell where she was detained. Other opposition MPs arrested included Jumwa's Busia counterpart, Florence Mutua, Timothy Bosire (Kitutu Masaba), Junet Mohamed (Suna East) and Machakos Senator Johnston Muthama. In her letter published in one of the local dailies, Ms Jumwa said: "The Muthaiga Police Station cell I was kept was deplorable and unfit for human use." Jumwa and Mutua were detained at Muthaiga police station as the other MPs spent nights at Milimani and Muthangari police stations. Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa said on Sunday the condition at the cell she was held together with a colleague were deplorable.
