Our Special CorrespondentCollege Street: Calcutta University has posted on its website a list mentioning the number of students each college can admit in each department in the 2018-19 academic year. This is the first time the university has put up such a detailed list ahead of the start of the undergraduate admission season. The university aims to tell the undergraduate aspirants and their parents through the list how many students a college can admit in a particular department. The university had in March barred undergraduate students who had been denied registration to write the Part I exams. University officials said Ananda Mohan College had admitted students in botany, zoology and physiology classes in excess of their sanctioned intake limit.
