Midnight cloudburst which began in late hours of Thursday has left several parts of the city in knee high water, and caused widespread disruption of power supply and water logging on roads. According to information from GHMC, about 200 homes in the locality had rain water entering them. Mayor Bonthu Ram Mohan and Additional Commissioner Sikta Patnaik visited the area and supervised relief operations. Even in areas such as Begumpet, residents spent the night helplessly waiting for rescue forces, as rain water entered their homes. Rescue and relief operations by the DRF teams are on since 4 a.m.
