more-inThe Saidabad police on Thursday registered a criminal case against Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK), MP, Kanimozhi, following a direction from a local court. An advocate Karuna Sagar recently filed a petition in a local court for her controversial statement on Lord Venkateshwara at a conference by Dravidar Kazhagam in Tiruchirappalli. In response, the court directed the police to registered a case and invoked 295A (deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 298 (Uttering, words with deliberate intent to wound the religious feelings of any person) of Indian Penal Code against Ms Kanimozhi.
