Christchurch City Council: 2016 preliminary election resultsJoseph Johnson Lianne Dalziel celebrates her win with supporters. The new-look Christchurch City Council has 16 councillors from 16 wards this year – up from 13 councillors from seven wards – as a result of a representation review by the Local Government Commission. About 98 per cent of the votes in the 2016 election have now been counted. The final results official results, which will include all ordinary and special votes, will be declared between October 13 and 19. Details of the preliminary results are below.
