Talking to the Dhaka Tribune, Khaiz Ahmed Mozumder, managing director of Karnaphuli Gas Distribution Company (KGDC) Ltd, said the gas supply resumed around 12:30am on Tuesday. Following the incident, KGDC's Khaiz said: "A 24-inch diameter ring in the main gas pipeline was damaged when Chittagong City Corporation authorities dug a canal in the area. We immediately decided to stop the gas supply to ensure the safety of the people and their properties."
