The Munajat began around 11:47am on the banks of the Turag River, in Tongi, on Tuesday; marking the end of the five-day-long Bishwa Ijtema. Maulana Muhammad Shamim of Delhi's Nizamuddin Markaz of Tabligh Jamaat led the Munajat, which ended at 12:02pm. Devotees have been congregating at the Ijtema grounds since February 16 to take part in the Akheri Munajat. The Akheri Munajat was live-telecast on TV and the internet, allowing devotees at home and abroad to participate.
