Around 11am, he announced this at a press briefing on security measures for events at the Central Shaheed Minar. Inspecting security measures at the venue, the police commissioner said: “A four-tier security arrangement, comprised of around 16,000 police personnel, will be implemented on International Mother Language Day. “Around 6,000 police personnel will be deployed to the Central Shaheed Minar, along with plain-clothes police, dog squads, and bomb disposal units. “All archways, entrances, and police checkpoints to the Shaheed Minar will have metal detectors. “The Central Shaheed Minar will be opened for public after Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, President Abdul Hamid, senior government and political officials pay homage to the language movement martyrs,” Asaduzzaman Mia added.
